I
though I heard your laughter
but it was only the tinkling of
chimes sweetly in the breeze.
I
thought I felt your touch
but it was only soft,
shimmering silk brushing across my face.
I
thought I saw you dazzling image
but it was only an amazing
statue standing still on its platform.
I
thought I smelled your divine scent
but it was only the beautiful
roses blossoming sweetly in the Spring.
I
thought I saw you smiling face
but it was only a leaf swaying
gently on its fresh, strong branch.
I
saw you where you never were, You were only on my
mind.
